Jasmine Lin is a salsa dancer, lover of contemporary American poetry, and behind-the-scenes environmentalist known for her pacific treatment of bugs. She received her degree in romanticism from Italian opera and speaks English, Mandarin, and slow-but-mostly-precise German. A believer in loyalty, she can be found most days harboring thoughts of her parents and friends, eating organic produce, and striving against hypocrisy. She is best friends with a 345-year-old violin, with whom she travels extensively.

Now--for a breath I tarry

Nor yet disperse apart--

Take my hand quick and tell me,

What have you in your heart.

Speak now, and I will answer;

How shall I help you, say;

Ere to the wind's twelve quarters

I take my endless way.

made human in Roger Zelazny's "For a Breath I Tarry"     --courtesy of

cellist/composer friend Jonathan Golove

The whole problem can be stated quite simply by asking, 'Is there a meaning to

music?' My answer would be, 'Yes.' And 'Can you state in so many words what

the meaning is?' My answer to that would be, 'No.'
